CYSTITIS(back to nutrition facts A to Z menu) About CystitisCystitis is inflammation of the bladder, usually caused by the bacteria Escherichia
coli, and sometimes by Chlamydia. Cystitis occurs far more frequently in women than men, and when it does occur in men it can be a sign of more serious problems such as prostatitis. Use of antibiotics to clear up cystitis, usually leads to thrush and an overgrowth of opportunistic yeasts like Candida Albicans. Boost the immune system to help prevent infections gaining hold. Do not delay emptying the bladder for too long, and keep the genital and anal areas clean and dry. Women should wipe from front to back after emptying the bladder or bowels. Do not use ‘feminine hygiene’ sprays, bubble baths, scented soaps, or anything similar. Nutrition Facts & Diet
