When your liver becomes so overloaded with toxins that the enzymes which deal with them can no longer cope, these toxins build up first in the liver, and are then deposited in fat cells around your body.  By restricting your intake of toxins, your body has a chance to relieve itself of the toxins it has been storing.  However, in order to do this, the toxins need to be taken out of the fat cells where they have been stored, and reintroduced into the body’s circulation.  It is this process which can produce a range of unpleasant and undesirable effects.

Liver Support provides optimum support for Phase I and Phase I processes

The healthiest way to support the body during metabolic clearing is to give the liver the nutrients it requires to effectively and harmlessly eliminate toxins.  Liver Support contains a huge array of nutrients and herbs …. to help support the liver during both Phase I and Phase II processes.

During Phase I (mobilisation), fat soluble toxins are made water-soluble, so they can be more easily broken down in phase II.  This process requires proanthocyanidins, bioflavonoids, beta-carotene, vitamins C and E, copper, manganese, selenium and catechins as antioxidants, plus iron, magnesium, molybdenum, manganese, copper, zinc and vitamins B2, B3 and B6 as coenzymes.

Phase II (conjugation) requires N-acetyl-cysteine, glucoronic acid, glutamine, glycine, methionine, taurine, vitamins B5, B6, B12, selenium and magnesium.

Lecithin, a lipotrophic agent, has also been included in the formula because of its importance for liver function and fat metabolism.  Vitamins A, B1, biotin, calcium, chromium and vanadium have also been included.  In fact, the range of nutrients contained in Liver Support is so huge that it may be used as a general multi-vitamin and mineral supplement for anyone who requires an effective multi with a strong bias towards liver support.

In addition to the vital nutrients for Phase I and II processes, Liver Support also contains an array of herbs, which are well-known for their liver-supporting properties.  Milk Thistle contains silymarin and related compounds that support the liver, protecting it from toxins, free-radicals and oxidative damage.  It also protects the liver’s enzyme system, helping to main (protective) glutathione peroxidase levels and support normal liver function.  Dandelion contains many important chemicals for assisting the liver; schizandra is an antioxidant with powerful protective properties; and beetroot is renowned for its revitalising effects.
