Rio Health SlimSweet

Whatever your reason for cutting down on sugar, you will be thrilled to meet SlimSweet, a completely natural sweetener that:

  • is natural

  • has virtually no calories

  • does not raise insulin or blood sugar levels

  • does not promote fat storage

  • actually burns fat

  • does not feed yeast

  • does not raise cholesterol

  • is perfectly safe for diabetics and hypoglycaemics

  • tastes wonderful

  • actually supports the good bacteria in the gut, ultimately helping with total cleansing and liver support.

SlimSweet is recommended by the Slimming Institute of California. They say:

"SlimSweet is the sweetener we recommend on the program. It is used in our morning smoothies, and it is an optional ingredient in several of our recipes. (And, yes, some of our slimmers even sneak it into the cranberry juice-water mixture.) SlimSweet does not affect blood sugar or raise fat-promoting insulin levels. And it does not feed yeast. It supports the good bacteria in the gut, ultimately helping with total cleansing and liver support."

Our national hunger for sweet things has led to an average annual intake many times higher than our actual physical needs. There are consequences.

Sucrose (common table sugar) is one of the most dangerous and addictive high-glycaemic sugars and it has been associated with:

increased insulin levels

diabetes

hypoglycaemia

the promotion of fat storage

candida overgrowth (yeast)

tooth decay, even in infants

general inflammation

poor immunity (increased susceptibility to infections)

sugar and carbohydrate cravings

depression

Artificial alternatives to natural sugar, often praised as low or zero-calorie, can also be surprisingly high on the Glycaemic Index and lead to similar conditions resulting from high insulin levels.

SlimSweet is an extract derived from an extremely low-glycaemic relative of the kiwi fruit that grows in southern China, and which has been in use there as a folk medicine for thousands of years.

But because SlimSweet is derived from fruit it does not make it the same as fructose. While normal fructose products are low-glycaemic, they do contain calories. Importantly, they can often promote weight gain through the stimulation of Lipoprotein Lipase (LPL). This is one of the key enzymes in the promotion of fat storage in the body. LPL breaks down oils and fats so that they can be released into the system as free fatty acids which are deposited in the fat cells. Fat storage is, of course, a health hazard.

Rio Health SlimSweet is for most people the taste they love: no aftertaste, no bitterness, no acidity. It is presented as granules of a pale golden colour and, because it is concentrated, it is economical to use. Each tub of 80g gives up to 160 servings.

Herbs
For thousands of years, herbs have been used to help maintain many aspects of health and wellness. Today, research and technology are bringing herbalism into the modern age – with improved extraction, standardization, and farming methods. Clinical studies are beginning to validate herbal therapies, so even some in the medical community are starting to accept them.

Many of today’s medicines were originally derived from botanicals. Aspirin once came from the white willow tree, quinine from the bark of the cinchona tree, and digitalis from foxglove. Herbs are still the basis for Chinese medicine and are important constituents of many European natural remedies. As Hippocrates said, “Let they food by thy medicine, thy medicine be thy food”.

Some of the herbs available on this site are wild-crafted – grown in the wild – while others are meticulously cultivated on herb farms.
