Detox makes use of three herbs with proven effects:
-
Milk
Thistle seeds, known also as Silymarin, which renders toxins in
fatty deposits water soluble (see here for longer article on Silymarin)
-
Fenugreek
seeds which assist normal cell growth, lowers cholesterol, acts as a
digestive tonic and lowers blood sugar in diabetics
-
Artichoke
extracts which is anti-bacterial and also used for diabetes
The
liver is our main organ of detoxification. It does have spare capacity
and the ability to regenerate, but medical experts agree that the toxic
overload peculiar to our times has stretched it beyond its limit in one
out of three people.
Toxins
that can burden the liver include metabolic end products, bacteria and
viruses, pharmaceutical drugs, alcohol, food additives and other
chemical pollutants.
The
detoxification of the liver is a two stage process: firstly the toxins
are made water soluble, and then they are eliminated. This takes place
through the kidneys and the colon, and Super Detox supports both of
these stages and encourages full purification.
The
extracts (milk thistle, fenugreek and artichoke) are produced by a
triple cold maceration process, filtered and combined in a balanced
ratio to amplify the primary function of milk thistle. The extracts are
preserved in grain alcohol (20%).
The
twenty day course can be repeated if required.

Herbs
For thousands of years, herbs have been used to help maintain many aspects of
health and wellness. Today, research and technology are bringing herbalism into
the modern age – with improved extraction, standardization, and farming
methods. Clinical studies are beginning to validate herbal therapies, so even
some in the medical community are starting to accept them.
Many of today’s
medicines were originally derived from botanicals. Aspirin once came from the
white willow tree, quinine from the bark of the cinchona tree, and digitalis
from foxglove. Herbs are still the basis for Chinese medicine and are important
constituents of many European natural remedies. As Hippocrates said, “Let they
food by thy medicine, thy medicine be thy food”.
Some of the herbs
available on this site are wild-crafted – grown in the wild – while others
are meticulously cultivated on herb farms.
