Nutrition Facts & Diet Advice for Headaches and Migraine

The following nutrition guidelines should be considered:

 

  • Eat little and often to keep blood sugar stable.

  • Drink at least 1½ litres of spring or filtered water per day. 

  • Slowly reduce coffee, until you have completely eliminated it – sudden coffee withdrawal can cause headaches for up to 4 days. 

  • Reduce or eliminate tea, and avoid cola and chocolate. 

  • Eat a high-fibre diet with plenty of fruit and vegetables. 

  • Avoid salt.
