difference between 'Full Potency' Herbs and 'Standardized Full Potency' Herbs.
Standardized Full Potency Herbs are developed through a unique process that extracts the active herbal constituent from the whole herb and concentrates it into set amounts of key active compounds. The result is a potent, premium-quality standardized herbal extract with the synergistic and beneficial qualities found in nature.
But standardization alone is not enough. Traditional herbal medicine teaches that the whole herb is more valuable than its component parts. Herbs contain a host of important ingredients, including pharmacologically active constituents, phytochemicals, and compounds not yet identified. Isolating and standardizing only one or two components may not utilize all of the components necessary for the herb's effectiveness. So Solgar blends standardized herbal constituents with all of the components that occur naturally in the whole herb.
Full Potency Herbs are for people who prefer a traditional, non-standardized, approach to herbal therapy. Solgar concentrates the whole herb to provide higher levels of the principal constituents. This traditional extract is then blended with the components that occur naturally in the whole herb.
